Specialized fact about this state is that Sanskrit and Hindi is the official language whereas Urdu, Pahari, Punjabi and Nepali language is being spoken. And two of the holy rivers originating from here are auspicious Ganga and Yamuna where Ganga originated from Gangotri and Yamuna originated from Yamunotri.

Having the tribal group of population such as Jaunari tribe, is the largest one whereas Raji which is smallest, Tharu, Bhotia and Buksa are the other tribes. And the folk dance of the state is Langvir Nritya which is performed only by the males which is like balancing the body on the pole.

Having the precedence of forest Himalayan Musk deer consists of state animal. Considering the mountain ranges it encloses the greater Himalayas, lesser Himalayas, Mussoorie ranges, Kumaoan hills and shivaliks. The Nanda Devi Biosphere, also a world heritage site where the eye-catching Himalayan black beer and snow leopard can be found.
It also has the inclusion of several lakes such as Roopkund lake which has the glaciers and is the largest lake of all, Nainital Lake in Naintal which is also called the Lake district of India.
